How to write a number in Bengali words

Type an amount using digits such as 125000 or ১২৫০০০. Both word results update as you type. In money mode, 1,25,000.50 becomes এক লাখ পঁচিশ হাজার টাকা এবং পঞ্চাশ পয়সা মাত্র. Copy the Bangla or English result separately, then compare it with the numeric amount before using it.

Decimals and paisa follow different rules

In ordinary-number mode, every decimal digit is read separately: 12.05 becomes বারো দশমিক শূন্য পাঁচ. In money mode, the fraction is a paisa amount: 12.05 becomes বারো টাকা এবং পাঁচ পয়সা মাত্র. Money values are rounded half up to two decimal places using decimal-string arithmetic, so 1.005 becomes 1.01 and 999.995 becomes 1,000.00.

Amounts in words for everyday documents

Use this converter to prepare amounts for payment forms, invoices, school exercises or cheque drafts. It uses the South Asian thousand–lakh–crore system in both languages. It does not fill or submit a cheque, convert currencies or validate a bank’s document requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter Bengali digits and commas?

Yes. ১২৫০০০.৫০ and 1,25,000.50 represent the same amount. Ungrouped digits, South Asian comma groups and standard three-digit comma groups are accepted. Malformed groups such as 1,,000 are rejected.

How do I write one lakh taka in words?

Enter 100000 with Taka and Paisa enabled. The Bangla result is এক লাখ টাকা মাত্র and the English result is one lakh taka only. The ending is included in money mode, while zero paisa is omitted.

What happens to extra decimal places?

You can enter up to six decimal digits. Money mode rounds to two places, with a third decimal digit of 5 or more rounding up. Ordinary-number mode keeps every entered decimal digit, including trailing zeros. The displayed normalized amount shows exactly which number was used.

How large a number can I convert?

The integer part can be from zero through 9,99,99,99,999. In money mode the maximum is 9,99,99,99,999.99. A value that rounds above the limit is rejected. Negative numbers, exponent notation and currency symbols are not accepted.

Which Bengali spellings are used?

The tool uses common Bangladesh forms, including বিশ, লাখ and আটাশি. Hundreds are written explicitly, for example এক শত. Other spellings such as কুড়ি or লক্ষ may be used in different contexts; this tool keeps one consistent style.
